Gue ga paham lagi! Pacar gue belakangan ini sibuk bener ya wawancara dimana-mana. Dari lah GQ Magazine, trus Forbes 100 Celebrity List sampe jadi cover segala macam, ini sekarang dia di Sunday Times. Gue ga nemu banyak sih fotonya, tapi kalo beritanya gue ada LENGKAP!

Justin lagi interview ditemenin sama Allison Kaye, general manager nya dan salah satu dari geng terdekatnya (bodyguard, musical director, videographer/photographer, stylist, hairstylist, managers, his mother and/or his father) yaitu orang-orang yang selalu mengelilingi Justin sepanjang waktu. 

Well, Justin yang berumur 18 Maret kemaren jadi the first superstar of the social media. Iya banget sih, abis Justin baru deh yang lain pada ikutan ya kan? Well, sweet voice, blinding white teeth and flicky hair yang bahkan sampe punya its own segment di film Never Say Never.

Well, lot of things happen, termasuk bagian Mariah Yeater, 20, yang ngaku-ngaku kalo pas Justin umu 16 tahun, dia melakukan 'sesuatu yang ada di bajumu' ke si Mariah di Staples Center. Yakali --"

Well, tadinya wawancara dan foto mau dilakukan di luar gitu, tapi apa daya? Moshe Benabou, 24/7 bodyguar nya Justin, a former Israeli soldier, ga setuju mereka pake acara golf segala. Sepanjang minggu girls been throwing themself ke mobil Justin. Elah, kenapa gue mikir FTV ya? yang kayak ceweknya sengaja nabrakin badan ke mobil Justin, trus kecelakaan, dibawa ke rumah sakit, jatuh cinta. Oke skip, abaikan! Maklum gue random malem ini :p

Well, ditambah road manager, Kenny Hamilton aja, bahkan suka dikejar-kejar sama fans kalo dia berani jogging di taman. Sakit ya? Jadi yah, wawancaranya dilaksanain di hotel doang, begitu juga dengan sesi foto.

Bieber’s ambition is to win over all demographics, not just the hordes of Beliebers, with his new album, Believe. His debut offering, My World 2.O, was a fizzy and gentle, high-pitched tween product - The Osmonds with an R&B topspin - largely created by a host of backroom songwrites. But his follow-up has a roster of A-list, grown-up guests.

“It’s music for everybody, it’s not corny,” he tells me. His co-writers and singers range from Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Will.I.Am to his mentor, Usher, the R&B superstar he calls “big bro”. Bieber had a hand in much of the writing himself. And his voice has broke. Old - that is very young - fans will be kept on side by that still-cherubic voice, and by an update of his haircut into a James Dean-ish quiff.

She is even more devout than her son. “She talks to God every second of the day,” he says. Bieber wasn’t hot-housed by a pushy parent - Mallette turned to God for advice when Scott “Scooter” Braun, Bieber’s 30-year-old manager, discovered his homemade videos on YouTube in 2008 and offered him a contract.

Her faith, says Bieber, will be one strand of her autobiography, Nowhere But Up, due out in September. “You know, she was into drugs and alchohol heav [sic], and she was abused as a child, sexually… She just wants to tell the world that you can have a voice and it does get better. She has been through a lot, and she wants me to help the world.” Mallette’s troubled past means she is very protective of her only son, but she seems to leave all the key creative decisions to Braun.

It’s dedicated to his Disney-princess girlfriend, the 19-year-old actress/singer Selena Gomez (a relationship non-Beliebers consider a too-perfect, image-enhancing setup). He said he wrote it after he landed in “some random country”. Braun shouted that it was Indonesia, but it was too late. Within hours there calls for Bieber-boycotts in the world’s fifth most populous state. Bieber had to jump on the mice-blogging side and send his 15,249th tweet. He told his (at the time) 20,069,44 followers: “One rumour I won’t stand for is saying what me and my fans have isn’t real. Idonesia I see you. i love u. I love ALL MY FANS #fact”. Phew, crisis averted,

Di bagian ini gue sebagai warga Indonesia MERASA MALU. See? sampe majalah Sunday Times juga ngomongin ini lho. Apa kabar beritanya yak? He put out a Christmas record and a perfume, Someday, completed a 130-daye world tour and released his first film, Never Sat Never, the world highest grossing concert movie. His (at the newest time of writing) 21,114,324 twitter followers are only outnumbered by Lady Gaga’s. Who would win in a fight? I ask: his 21m Beliebers or her 23m “Little Monsters”? “I think the Beliebers would win,” says the fiercely competitive Bieber. Really? Your fans are kids. Lady Gaga’s fans probably wear boots and have whips, I point out. “But the Beliebers have dads. Dads are vicious, you know that,” he retorts.

Oke, kemudian dilanjutkan soal gimana Justin selalu ngerasa beruntung akan hidupnya sekarang. Dia bilang mungkin aja sekarang dia ga punya uang buat kuliah, dan well, lingkaran itu akan terus berlanjut. Anak-anaknya ga bakal punya duit juga, dan mungkin, dia bakal jadi ayah muda juga. Yah well, siapa yang bakal nyangka akan ada 1 cowok super hot yang auranya tertutup rambut kelewat gondrong kalo aja Mom Pattie ga ngepost that freaking first video di Youtube.

When I talked to Usher about it, he was like, ‘Listen, this is not gonna be the last time. Always be gracious, and the truth will eventually get out.’”

Okay so yeah, you heard it right. Justin sedikit well, merasa dipermalukan lah dengan harus ngasih sample DNA segala macam, secara jelas-jelas itu bukan anaknya. Dan well, saking "berkesan"nya moment tersebut, Justin bikin lagu dengan judul Maria, agak nyerempet dikit ye dari Mariah. Gue pengen banget denger itu lagu, sambil ngebayangin ulang kasus Mariah Yeater segala macam. Ngakak kali ya gue?

Cuma ya, yang gue kocak adalah bagian si Justin sama Sele ngomong di telepon, yang sele nanya soal rumor itu, trus dibilang boong sama Justin, trus, "Okay, thank you, bye!" APA APAAN ITU? Gue kagak ngerti ini anak dua hubungannya apa sebenernya --"

Unlike Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers, “We never even took a meeting with Nickelodeon or Disney, because we knew that’s not who he was,” Braun says. The claim doesn’t quite square with his cute-as-a-button girlfriend, the star of Disney’s Wizards Of Waverly Place, but it seems Bieber is genuinely besotted with Gomez. At Ellen DeGeneres’ studio, he cuts me off as I ask a question, saying: “I’m going to call my girlfriend.”

So he does, reaching Gomez on the Florida set of her new film Spring Breakers. “Whats up baby? I can’t stop thinking about you… I said I can’t stop thinking about you. That’s all. Yes, so, um, I gotta do this interview but I just wanted to call and hear your voice really quickly… Okay, I love you. Okay bye.”

Skype and FaceTime keep them connected, he says. “Ten years ago, or even five years, long distance relationships were much harder. Now you see eachother anytime you want!” Is Bieber lonely? It doesn’t seem that way. Surrounded by adults from childhood and possed of an oddly grown-up mienhe has formed friendships that go beyond strictly business. His father, Jeremy, 37, who joined him on his birthday, is often around. Could Jeremy, a tattooed and muscled former mixed martial-arts fighter, tell me something about his son others may not know? “That I can share?” Jeremy replied. “My hands sweat a lot, so do his. And his feet. No, they don’t smell. And he was afraid of the dark for most of his life.” Does he sleep with a light on? “Sometimes.”

Braun, Usher and Kaye all take active roles in “parenting” Bieber. They don’t appear to indulge him, though he has copied Usher and bouht a big Ducatti 848 motorbike. Neither Braun not Mallette are ver happy about that. But, still, this is the day he becomes a man. So Usher and Braun have bought Bieber a car. “Does it fly?” exclaims Bieber. “I don’t want it unless it flies.” The electric Fisker Karma does’t fly, but it did cost $120,000, Bieber’s jaw drops. He climbs in and winds up the window. “Ut smells so good in here!” he yells. 

Two days laterm Bieber confuses the “drive” and “reverse” buttons and shunts the brand new luxury sports car into a pole.

But all things considered, Bieber is a decent kid. The teenage condition is by definition one of self-absorbtion and appogance. Apply that to a hurricane of hard work, a whirlwind of adulation, and an avalanche of cash, you might say he has every right to be a world-beating brat.

But he’s not. He’s kept on a tight leashe by his small, focused entourage. His mum is a crucial bulward to the madness. And Bieber himself know what not to do. Ever been around drugs Justin? “Ah, I don’t really put myself in that postition… I’m pretty clear with that stuff.”What about sex, now that he’s a man? What happens when panties start getting thrown on stage. “The panties are already being thrown on stage man!” he whoops. Already, he’s maturing fast away from an asexualt Peter Pan existance.

Are you a virgin Justin? He gasps, embarrassed. “Ah-hah… Next Question!”

HECK YEAH!!! Di umur 18 tahun, Justin akhirnya masuk Forbes dan jeng jeeeng, jadi cover di edisi 100 list celebrities versi Majalah Forbes yang kece banget itu. SWAGG!

Oh, and you should know, Justin ada di peringkat KETIGA dari daftar 100 artis versi majalah Forbes, setelah J-Lo dan Oprah. Oh iya, list ini diliat dari daftar kekayaan mereka :)

Since his debut three years ago Bieber has sold 15 million albums, grossing $150 million on 157 tour dates across two dozen countries along the way. His biopic, Never Say Never, pulled in $30 million on its opening weekend, just shy of the ­concert-film record, and racked up $100 million at the box office in total. His fragrance, Someday, debuted last June and did $60 million in retail sales during its first six months on the market. Those income streams helped Bieber personally earn an estimated $55 million over the past 12 months and $108 million over the past two years.


Even more impressive than Bieber’s earning power: his vast social media reach, part of the reason he ranks third on this year’s Celebrity 100 list. Bieber boasts 21 million Twitter followers—more than any person on Earth not named Lady Gaga. His 43 million Facebook fans are more than Mitt Romney’s and Barack Obama’s put together. With 740 million views, his breakout ballad, “Baby,” is the most-watched video in YouTube history; if you assume three minutes per song, his VEVO channel’s 2.4 billion impressions are enough to provide one minute of video to every person on the planet.


Bieber’s tech savvy infuses more than his music—it’s also a core strategy for how the entertainer intends to translate all that fame and fast money into enduring riches. Instinctively, he embraces a Peter Lynch model of investing—“I’m not going to invest in something I don’t like; I have to believe in the product”—but rather than load up on buy-what-you-know value stocks, the singer has been quietly plowing millions into private tech startups. According to his manager, Bieber holds stakes in a dozen such companies. FORBES was able to verify four: messaging platform Tinychat, social-­curation app Stamped, gaming outfit Sojo Studios and, most critically, Spot­i­fy, the disruptive music service founded by Daniel Ek and backed by everyone from Sean Parker to Li Ka-shing.


Bieber has come a long way in the finance department since I first broached the subject with him a bit over a year ago. “I have a business manager,” he told me at the 2011 Grammys. “That basically sums up the question.” Today that’s changed: “I do calls every week with my business manager and my lawyer,” he says. “Each week I’m learning something about my business and what I need to know for my career.”

“It was just crazy to me because I didn’t really think that it was possible,” Bieber says. “I lived in such a small town and things like that didn’t really happen.” Before Web 2.0 they probably never did. Yet there was Bieber, blowing away Braun and Usher in March 2008. The duo quickly signed him to their joint venture, Raymond Braun Media Group, and Braun became Bieber’s manager. By September they’d landed him a record deal with Universal Music Group’s Island Def Jam. His first single cracked the top 20 after its July 2009 release, and his debut EP, My World, catapulted him to mainstream fame that fall. In December President Obama invited him to sing at the White House, and he wowed a national audience with a per­for­mance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

This cultural phenomenon, born of social media, took a modicum of fame and tossed it into the digital echo chamber. Bieber opened a Twitter account in June 2009 and by September had amassed 1 million followers. (In 2010 a Twitter employee said 3% of the company’s infrastructure was dedicated to handling Bieber-related tweets.) He was also an early adopter of Instagram, the photo-sharing service recently purchased by Facebook for $1 billion, and boasts 1.5 million followers there, more than any other user (his girlfriend, singer/actress Selena Gomez, ranks third with 1.4 million).

“It used to be there was a mystery to the artist,” says Bieber. “Now there’s, like, no mystery—the fans want the connection, they want to see you Instagramming at a coffee shop in the morning.”

With such social media dexterity Bieber has built himself a formidable platform. The 30-year-old Braun’s challenge: sustaining the phenomenon. In many ways Bieber and Braun are the most intriguing talent-manager combo since Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker. Both managers wielded the influence that comes from discovering their charges young, and both faced the challenge of moving them past the fickle market of hysterical, screaming teenage girls.

But whereas Parker took any deal he could and up to 50% of the action to make sure his once-in-a-lifetime meal ticket turned into a decades-long feast, Braun is more judicious. His deal with Bieber is closer to the standard 15%; he thinks long-term success requires selectivity, not ubiquity, and aligning all deals with Bieber’s brand. “I don’t let him get involved in anything unless he likes it,” he says. Turning Bieber into the world’s most unconventional venture capitalist is simply a sophisticated manifestation of that philosophy.

Braun first came up with the idea of getting Bieber to invest in startups three years ago. Just as Diddy partnered with Ciroc and Jay-Z launched a Reebok sneaker line, it made sense for Bieber to directly benefit from something he could promote to his core audience. But teenagers aren’t allowed to buy vodka, and they generally don’t have the disposable income necessary to buy $150 shoes. What they do consume in nearly unlimited quantities, however, is social media.

“I said, ‘This is a space where you can move the needle and you can actually be a part of something that’s more than just your money working,’” Braun recalls. “‘You worked hard to get to this point, and these [startups] are benefiting over what you’re doing. … You should be a part of that process.’” Adds Bieber: “Social media helped launch my career. Without the Internet and without YouTube, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to put my music out there and have people hear it.”

Bieber’s first investment came in 2009, and though he won’t reveal that company’s name, he’s been on a venture capital roll ever since. Last January he and Braun joined a $1.5 million financing round for Tinychat, along with A-Grade (the investment fund run by actor Ashton Kutcher, billionaire Ron Burkle and Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager). In May Bieber joined Google Ventures and Bain Capital to invest in Stamped, an app that allows users to rate everything from restaurants to music. Spotify was the big one, as founder Daniel Ek recruited a handful of recording artists to buy in while seeking industry credibility ahead of his company’s U.S. launch last year. Next up: Viddy, a video-sharing app with an Instagram-like interface.

“Scooter has a team that helps find investments,” says Bieber. “Usually we work together. If I find something, I bring it to the table.”

In the latter camp, Ellen DeGeneres turned Bieber on to social gaming company Sojo Studios, and he soon joined her as an investor. One of his favorite products: a Farm­Ville-esque Facebook game called WeTopia, where players collect virtual points that can be redeemed as donations to real charities. Neither Bieber nor his manager will reveal any other startups he’s backed, but Braun says they’re all still in business.

In a typical Bieber deal he’ll put in about $250,000 at the favorable pricing generally reserved for smart money—the kind of strategic partners that help a company long term. Braun won’t disclose the size of Bieber’s portfolio but says it’s between 2% and 5% of the singer’s net worth. FORBES puts Bieber’s fortune at about $80 million, which translates to somewhere in the ballpark of $3 million in venture investments.

There will surely be more loot to put to work. This fall Bieber embarks on a yearlong tour, hitting every continent but Antarctica; promoter AEG Live has guaranteed him $80 million for 125 concerts. Anyone who sees Bieber as a fad should take note of that deal. “He’s not just an American domestic phenomenon, he’s a worldwide phenomenon,” says Randy Phillips, AEG’s chief.

On the tour Bieber will be showcasing the more grown-up fare of Believe—a crucial step as he tries to transition from teen idol to adult icon. “It’s not really a transition, it’s just opening doors,” he insists. “I’m trying to make music that’s a little bit more mature and that can appeal to all ages, and I’m not trying to lose my younger fans.”

Some compare this blueprint with that of another Justin—Timberlake, a crossover former boy-band star with venture capitalist proclivities. Similarly Bieber is taking acting more seriously, planning to costar with Mark Wahlberg in a basketball flick next year. But Bieber maintains there’s only one role model: Michael Jackson, who converted child stardom to icon status. Inspired by the King of Pop’s largesse, he says he includes a charitable component in every deal. “People were fine with buying 20 CDs from Michael Jackson because he went and did good things.”

Ditambah tahun ini Justin sering banget ditelpon pengacaranya buat masalah bisnisnya dan segala macamnya, walaupun dia dari dulu punya manager keuangan.

Oh, dan yang mesti lo garis bawahi, tahun ini konser Justin diurus sama AEG, yang dulu ngurus konser Justin, yang sudah memastikan kalo Justin bakal ngadain konser buat BELIEVE sebanyak 125 KONSER alias 125 PERFORMANCE, dan dipastikan bakal dapet lebih kurang $80million alias 80 juta US Dollar, alias lo kaliin sekitar 9.500 kalo dirupiahin alias BANYAK BANGET MEEN!!!

Okay, so di edisi GQ June issue ini, Justin akhirnya me-reveal kalo dia sebelumnya udah pernah minum beer. huwwoooow! gue sih jujur aja ga shock schok banget. Gue kan udah tau busuk-busuknya justin, remember?

“For me, it’s just like, I like to be in control of myself. I mean, I’ve had a beer, like, before… But I never get out of control.”

 “I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can’t trust anyone in this business. That’s what’s sad. You can’t trust anybody. I learned the hard way.”

Bahkan, anaknya aja sampe nanya; You will meet Justin Beaver? ke orang ini. udah gitu pas dua disuruh ngewawancarain Justin ini, dia itu nunggu 51 jam buat ketemu Justin, karna 2 hari nungguin di studio tapi si Justin nya langsung pulang gitu. Dia nunggu di studio, Justin katanya makan malam dulu dan nanti balik lagi. Dan jeng jeng, Justin gajadi balik. Besoknya janjian jam 6, si Justin telat dan katanya latihan tinju dulu -___-"

Dan lo tau? Katanya kru Justin, si Justin itu beli semua peralatan boxing karna dia suka dan bokapnya dulu atlet boxing kan. Nah tapi sekarang dia udah mulai bosen dan jarang main lagi. Anjir gampang bener buang-buang duit --"

But anyway, ini hasil interview nya ye :)

I have been warned by several people, including some people in his own camp, that Bieber has a very short attention span. This is correct. He is amazingly distractible. He also bursts into song a lot, at random intervals, no matter who’s around. (…Money on my mind and you on my mind, too much on my mind…) If it were anyone else, this would be annoying, but this is Justin Bieber, so every improvised song fragment is intended as a present to whoever’s around him, like that SNL skit in which Picasso dashes off sketches on scraps of paper and hands them to anyone walking by.

After the impromptu T-shirt alteration, Bieber goes into the recording room to listen to two songs he says he wrote just days earlier. He plays one of them and then proudly announces that he wrote it for his mom, who raised Bieber largely on her own in Stratford, Ontario. “She cried,” he says of her first listen. When he plays the second track, an as-yet-untitled reggae-infused love song—I just wanna be loved by youuuuu—I ask who inspired it. This time, he ducks his head shyly and stammers out, “That one, I just wrote it.” Bieber has been romantically linked to fellow singer Selena Gomez, but he’s not going anywhere near that. Like every other teenager in the universe, Bieber evades questions by staring directly at the floor.

I ask Bieber if he’d like to venture outside the studio to talk over dinner, but he declines. “It’s just a pain in the ass,” he says. Bieber exists inside what amounts to a series of interconnected skyways: He goes from his secluded house to his secluded Range Rover to his secluded studio, rarely setting foot in the exposed world. Suggesting that we pop down the block to a restaurant is insane. Stupid, even. I have been assured by Scooter Braun, Bieber’s manager, that Bieber is “very normal, very regular,” which is nonsense. No one can be normal living under the circumstances that constitute daily life for Justin Bieber.

So we stay at the studio and retreat into a rec room with a pool table. I’m told this is the first time that Bieber has ever been alone with a reporter for a one-on-one interview, which is not true but still makes me feel like a pederast. He immediately grabs a cue and begins playing by himself. I stand off to the side and start lobbing questions at him.

Bieber, justifiably, isn’t forthcoming with people he doesn’t know, and so I do most of the talking, because whenever I stop talking, there’s nothing but silence. Vast, horrible silence. Lots more floor-staring. I ask Bieber if fame ever cramps him.

“Not really, no.”

I ask Bieber about the new house he reportedly just bought.

“I’m not telling you where I live.”

I ask Bieber about not having set foot inside a classroom since he was 14 and how he feels about education in general.

“As far as education goes, you should be a smarter person.”

I ask Bieber about getting shitfaced.

“For me, it’s just like, I like to be in control of myself. I mean, I’ve had a beer, like, before…. But I never get out of control.”

(Later on, I tell Braun about this response, and he says, “He knows that I hold him to a high standard…. He doesn’t want to blow it.”)

“I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can’t trust anyone in this business,” Bieber says. “That’s what’s sad. You can’t trust anybody. I learned the hard way.” I assume he’s talking about the paternity suit that was filed against him (reportedly withdrawn) or maybe the comments he made to Rolling Stone about abortion that made pro-choice advocates angry. Bieber has already learned that every rough edge he shows the world will be turned against him, and so our conversation skates gingerly along the surface of things.

We talk music, and he mentions his love for pre–”Black Album” Metallica—”One,” “Fade to Black.” “Those are my jams,” he says. At last, we’ve got something in common. I feel no desire to punch him in the face anymore. I want to take him on a college tour and buy him sixty cheeseburgers. Seriously, the kid needs to add bulk.

A bit later, someone alerts Bieber that West Coast Customs has arrived with his new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. So now he’s running out to the parking lot to give it a once-over. It took West Coast six weeks to trick out the van, and WCC founder Ryan Friedlinghaus is here to hand-deliver the keys.

The Sprinter is exactly the car that an 18-year-old with too much money would drive. The interior is lined with Alcantara. There are two reclining seats way in back, with bucket seats lining the driver’s side of the main cabin, as in a stretch limo. There are three hi-def TVs, a computer dock, and a fully operational recording studio along the passenger side. All that’s missing is a button that spews out an oil slick, Spy Hunter–style, to foil paparazzi. Bieber’s pals try to guess how much it costs. “Definitely not a million,” says someone. One of Bieber’s business advisers, a woman named Allison Kaye, isn’t wild about the new toy. “Oh, this just screams inconspicuous,” she says to Bieber. No response.

Everyone gathers around as Bieber tours the van. He is euphoric. So much so that he has decided to pledge his loyalty to West Coast Customs forever and to decry its rival, Platinum Motorsport. “Fuck Platinum,” he says. “Platinum can suck a dick, man. West Coast all day.” This is a different Bieber from the one who was imprisoned with me just five minutes ago. This must be the Bieber that Bieber would like to be all the time. His R-rated rant, though, draws a reprimand from Friedlinghaus.

After forty minutes, Bieber’s done. That’s it. I have been told repeatedly what a hard worker he is, but in two nights—Bieber only records at night—I’ve witnessed him work for a grand total of forty minutes. Soon he’s back to pinballing around the studio. He catches Kaye ragging on Kim Kardashian. “That bitch should never wear white in public again,” she says. Bieber gets mildly indignant and sticks up for Kardashian. “You guys are so mean, bro…. People say she doesn’t do anything; she actually does do stuff…. She works hard.” Bieber is, of course, wrong, but it’s easy to see why he sticks up for Kardashian. For one thing, they once did a photo shoot together, which naturally makes them best celebrity friends forever. And he surely knows what it’s like to be hated by people who’ve never met you. Unlike Kardashian, though, Bieber is legitimately talented. He has something to offer the world. He wants to be a real artist. He wants respect.

It’s almost midnight, and Bieber is going home now. But before he leaves, he pokes his head into the break room to yell, “GOOD NIGHT, BITCHES!” Melissa, the PR lady, winces. But she shouldn’t. That, right there, is a proper 18-year-old, someone who probably knows how to draw an excellent d*ck on a grease board. To be a real man, you gotta be a real boy first.

Okay, buat lo yang ga ngerti bahasa Inggris ya, atau masih tidak terlalu paham, ada beberapa hal yang harus digarisbawahi. Si Justin  itu gampang banget ke-distract alias teralih pikirannya. Kalo dia diem bentar aja, dia bisa nyanyi-nyanyi ga jelas gitu, mulai dari lagunya sendiri atau apalah. Udah gitu, si Justin kan bawa Fisker Karmanya ke West Coast custom gitu, dan well pas ditanya kenapa dia ga bawa ke Platinum - bengkel tempat costumized mobil juga - Justin bilang: Fuck Platinum. Yeah well buddy, he's not as nice as what you think, but I mean, he's a normal boy aite? Dan namanya bule, wajar banget kale bilang kata itu.

Oh, and yeah, mobilnya itu dikasi 3 Hi-def TV, computer dock, studio mini gitu yang udah lengkap banget lah pokoknya di bagian kursi penumpang. Dan well, Allison Kaye, crew Justin bagian management itu bilang kalo itu cuma mainan murah yang yaah, paling ga sampe lah sejuta. Gue ga paham sama duit mantan gue --"

Oh dan yang bagian terakhir itu adalah bagian Justin ngebelain Kim Kardashian gitu, dan well, buktiin kalo Justin emang just a normal boy yang masih urakan dan seenaknya.

What’s the most fun thing you guys have done together?

 JUSTIN: We go go-karting a lot. I’ma blow up Usher’s spot a little bit: The first time, he asked for the fastest car, so he won—but the next time, I asked for the fastest car.

Speaking of cars, Justin, you drove here today in a pretty wild-looking ride.

JUSTIN: Usher and my manager got me this electric car called a Fisker and presented it to me on Ellen. That was crazy! I had no idea. Then I sent it to West Coast Customs: They chromed it out and put lights on the bottom so it looks like a spaceship. I get chased no matter what, so I might as well look cool doing it!

What the funniest thing you’ve read about yourselves?

USHER: That Justin had a baby—that was hilarious! It was like the “Billie Jean” story happening all over again. I remember being like, “Yo, I told you be careful!”

JUSTIN: The craziest thing I heard about Usher was just a few weeks ago there was an #RIPUsher hash tag on Twitter.

USHER: That’s funny?

JUSTIN: It was funny to me ‘cause I knew you weren’t actually dead.

USHER: This has turned into comedy and tragedy.

You’re both performing on this year’s Billboard Music Awards. What can we expect?

USHER: It’s an unveiling for both of us, and I’m excited that we’re going to be able to do it together. Since Justin’s first album we’ve been piggybacking—brother to brother, creator to creator. We’ve always managed to come out around the same time and show support for one another.

Each of you have recently taken your music in new directions. As an artist, how do you push yourself to take risks?

JUSTIN: I don’t want to lose my young fans, but I also want to mature and develop. I always keep one foot out of my comfort zone, trying new things and experimenting—if you don’t, people will get bored. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces and how I affect them when I perform makes me want to give them the absolute best experience they can possibly get.

USHER: I’m happy that Justin knows that without me even saying that. You really do want to make sure that you bring along fans that have always been there, but make sure that you grow and chart new territory. Even seven albums in, I still try to be innovative, blaze new trails, but allow people to come along on the journey. It’s all about striving for greatness and offering the best that I have. It’s no different than an athlete, or a boxer: standing in front of the person trying to tear his head off, he has to give his all to make it out of that ring.

JUSTIN: Usher played me a lot of new songs in the studio the other night, and I’d never heard anything like them before. That’s what I love: He could just come out with the R&B-pop records people expect, but this approach will prove even more powerful.

Justin, with your new single, “Boyfriend,” you incorporate hip-hop beats and rap. How did that come about?
